Booking InformationIf you would like to book a show at DJ Rider's make sure you read this page completely, in its entirety. This is the Bible for playing at DJ Rider's. DJ Rider's is first and foremost ... a music venue. We book shows on an average of five-six days a week. We support local original, cover and indie label acts. We do not limit acts in any way with set times, censorship, or bias against genre. We do prefer to keep nights within the same musical genre. Otherwise ... It's your show. We simply provide the venue and tech-support. If you have a professional act, with a good following we would like to hear from you. Several methods are available to let yourself make us aware of your interest to play, but it should be stated that none are a guarantee for a return response nor a particular show or date. We simply have such a large number of acts contacting us it is simply impossible to respond to all requests. Responses to a bands requests will be based upon our scheduling needs and a proven performance that a particular act will draw an appropriate sized audience. Terms (money) are also applied on a per show basis, unless a pre-existing relationship exists between our booking staff and any particular act. "What nights are available?" As it stands right now, the way we book shows follows a certain daily method. Here's how it works:
"All ages shows" and "18+ shows" are possible on Saturday afternoons only and must be arranged on a individual basis, and the final decision whether to book the show at all is reserved at our discretion. As a rule of thumb DJ Rider's does not offer booking to the following types of entertainment: Comedy, Rap, Karaoke, or DJ's. We are not closed to the idea if you have a successful show, mind you. But as a rule of thumb we will look at the potential and book shows of these types on case-by-case basis. Professionalism As I am sure you all realize, DJ Rider's is a professional gig, with excellent technical support. We do hold all bands to a standard of professionalism in line with common practice in the music industry. We will not tolerate out-of-control behavior, fighting, and most importantly being disrespectful of any of our staff, technical or otherwise. We do reserve the right to remove any person(s) from our premises who does not act accordingly. The following may seem like a given, but you would be surprised how often it happens. We expect bands who book shows with us to be competent players. Amateurs do not play at this venue. If you want to book a show here, please be able to play your instrument. Please make sure your music is of a nature where you will not empty our room. Experimentation is part of creating music, but save that for the rehearsal room. We have had bands come into this room and perform music that would annoy Yoko Ono, all the while the band was thinking they were great. Umm ... they weren't. While we would not normally stop a band during a performance, in this situation once a set is completed we do reserve the right to ask the band to not play any further, and that right is held at our discretion. Last minute cancellations happen, but we do expect when these circumstances arrive that the bands make all efforts to secure a replacement act of similar quality for the night in question. At least, we expect communication directly with whomever you booked the show. Please contact us by phone or by email and let us know the name of the band and date you are cancelling. Understand that a cancelation does not sit well with us and may impact future bookings with us, unless the reasons are good and you communicate with us as soon as possible Draw Any act playing DJ Rider's has the responsibility to draw a minimum of 30 people. That being said, draw is the one thing that we insist upon. We do not have a large regular crowd. The people who come to DJ Rider's do so usually to see a particular act. If you do not have a following, you will be playing to an empty room and you will not be making any money, and you will probably not be booked again in the future. DJ Rider's does it's part in terms of advertising your shows. We do the MySpace thing, email newsletters, Yahoo! Groups posting, our web site, regular print media, and some radio and TV. But the real promotion rests with the bands to draw their relevant audience. Guest Lists If you have a guest list you must make sure it is presented in person to our door person before 9pm. No Exceptions. We do not accept guest lists via email. It must be hand delivered to our door person the night of the show. It must be legible and have all persons listed by their full name. You must also inform the people on your guest list that they must bring some form or ID to show the door person. We accept guest lists for all shows, except shows where we have a "guarantee" to pay the band for the night. Promotional Material and Press Kits Press kits and any promo materials can be mailed to:
